This article, by means of quantitative analysis, analyses the tribute payments to temples and monasteries by the disciples of the Jibzundamba khutugtus. At the turn of the twentieth century, his disciples paid tributes to twenty-seven temples and monasteries, which included sacrificial tea, wick butter, firewood, milk and grain. During the late Qing period, the frequency and amount of tributes to be paid to the monasteries decreased, but the type of tributes remained the same. This historical case study sheds light on the socio-economic transformations in late imperial Mongolia.
